The propaganda is gone, rome is falling and you can see the toll it has taken on him in the expression of his face.

i love this piece, specifically because it is so over dramatic.
the church trying to make jesus look devoid of all bodily fluids tissue and muscle to evoke guilt from the christian masses. sort of a “look what he did for you, you ungreatful bastards” kind of deal.
it’s hauntingly disproportionate and i love it.
